Great commuter, i rode a regular road bike to work for 12 years both in San Diego and here in Hawaii. "What a difference", Hawaii has some crummy roads and bike paths and the Surly alleviates most of that with its smooth ride. I noticed a difference immediately and have grown to appreciate the comfort that the cross check provides.
